TRIANGLE SHIRTWAIST FACTORY FIRE (1911), 2024
Intaglio with aquatint
7.5 x 11 in.

In 1911, 146 garment workers - majority female and immigrant - died as a result of negligent and despicable labor conditions. This print abstracts the factory floor plan and the workers within it, an illustration of the exploitative expectations of order, maximization, and production prized over human life and presence.
